Cameron,
My first guess would be to get some experience. Ditch your car and work for a Car Service to learn, make contacts and see if this IS what you want to do. While I've never worked for a Car Service, I can tell you that of my previous employers, each had different tastes and interests. One just HAD to be driven in an S 600, while another demanded an understated domestic sedan.
A tuxedo will most certainly draw attention to yourself, when your principal needs to remain invisible. Probably the only time to wear a tux is driving at a wedding(?) or as part of a protective detail, working a Black-Tie event.
Also, these jobs - depending on where you are - can frequently have a security component. Then, there's advanced drivers training.
Starting with a service will at least get your feet wet, but some states won't look at you unless you've reached a certain age (25?).
I would recommend AGAINST starting in this field, as many employers are transitioning to contracting with a Car Service anyway. Finding private employment, or that with a corporation is bad now, and I wouldn't want to think of what the job market would be in 30 years when you're pushing 50.
Hope this helps.
