Mortal Kombat: Armageddon is a game released for several home consoles. It features a classic fighting mode where the player can fight with a lot of characters. It also has a mode called Konquest in which the player, Taven, must play in a 3D mode. It is a game like Mortal Kombat Mythologies. The player can also play a Kart game called Motor Kombat.
Konquest[edit | edit source]
Taven is a prince. He must find his father. He lives in a realm outside the Earthrealm. He travels to the Earthrealm thanks to a dragon friend who helps him on his quest. He fights all of the enemies of the game in order to find his father. He allies with some of the characters, like Sub-Zero. He takes items, wins koins and kills enemies. The koins are useful for unlocking items in the Krypt. He also learns new techniques.
Characters[edit | edit source]
The PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions of Armageddon contain 63 fighters (including the one that can be created by the player in Kreate a Fighter mode), the most of any Mortal Kombat or tournament fighter game to date. Only two characters, Daegon and Taven, are new to the series, while Sareena makes her playable debut on non-portable consoles and Meat makes his debut as a legitimate character. The Wii version contains all 63 characters from the other versions and also exclusive character Khameleon, from the Nintendo 64 version of the game Mortal Kombat Trilogy.
Krypt[edit | edit source]
It is a place where the player can unlock bonus movies, artwork, costumes, hidden characters and music tunes.
Motor Kombat[edit | edit source]
The game has a mode in which the players can race with karts. The karts are driven by the Mortal Kombat fighters. They have different abilities. The game is similar to Mario Kart 64.
Premium Edition[edit | edit source]
On October 9, 2006 Midway released Mortal Kombat: Armageddon: Premium Edition for PlayStation 2. The Premium Edition has three different metallic covers: Kano and Sonya, Sindel and Shao Kahn, and Johnny Cage and Goro. The Premium Edition includes a full playable version of the Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 arcade game, bonus videos on fatalities, and an animation cell cover art autographed by franchise creator, Ed Boon. The Premium Edition is priced at $49.95.
